Tour of Hope

With the help of generous individual and corporate donations, the group boards buses in May and December for its annual Tours of Hope, a day-long carol-a-thon that takes music to where it's needed most shelters, missions and retirement homes.

1. Catholic Worker
   The L.A. Catholic Worker is a lay Catholic community of men and women which operates a free soup kitchen, hospitality house for the homeless, AIDS ministry, hospice for the dying, newspaper, and regularly offers prophetic witness in opposition to war-making and injustice.
   We have sung many times outside in their lovely garden. This is a feeding program located in the heart of Skid Row, and as many people say, "they are the heart of Skid Row."

2. Union Rescue Mission
   At this site we will sing to the children who are in the School on Wheels program as well as to the current residents of the Mission. School on Wheels is a tutoring program serving children who are homeless.

3. The Bell Shelter
   We will be singing at the Bell Shelter to the people who have come here from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas to recover from the hurricanes and floods in those areas.

   This is a program that serves pregnant and parenting teens and their children.
