Tour of Hope

With the help of generous individual and corporate donations, the group boards buses in May and December for its annual Tours of Hope, a day-long carol-a-thon that takes music to where it's needed most shelters, missions and retirement homes.

1. Agoura Hill Senior Retreat in Agoura Hills
   This Retreat is located at the gateway to pristine Old Agoura horse country. It is an brand new facility offering residence to mature adults. They have an on-site Health and Wellness Center and a large unit for seniors who have Alzheimers.

2. Woodland Care Center in Reseda
   This is a skilled nursing facility-serving people as young as 40 and as old, currently, as 101. Here is what Jean Meyer the Activity Director wrote to us: Our residents are wonderful people. Their cognitive level ranges to a resident that may not be able to express themselves to very alert and oriented residents who may be here just for rehab. We have a lot of residents who are long term and rarely receive visits from families or friends. Our residents do seem to have one common thread that is music......."

3. Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks
   This is a 156 bed hospital. We will be singing on the 2nd and 3rd floors and in the world-renowned Grossman Burn Center.

We will be traveling on a huge yellow school bus, just the way we did on the very first tour 7 years ago. The bus is donated courtesy of County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavskys office. We will be singing in his district.
